Founded in 2000 by Paola Perelli, Lares started as a dream and joint of two passions: the passion for travel and the passion for her native country, Uruguay . Paola was exposed from the early age (her family was also related to the tourism industry) to the “art of travelling” the world and having travelled to many countries and following her own interests of seeking for genuine travel experiences off the beaten track, decided to share her passion and well kept secrets of this virtually unexplored destination with others.

“LARES” is a not very well known word for “places”, something unexplored, like Uruguay … and when she just started the company, this was the first task indeed: explore the country!

Since 2000, in Lares, we have walked every corner of Uruguay only to choose, design and put together the best itineraries in the best creative and innovative way providing unique and unforgettable travel experiences for individuals and small groups!
